Catherine Mellors is a Sydney-based writer and social worker who enjoys exploring the funny, messy and meaningful moments of being human. With a Graduate Certificate in Writing from the University of Technology Sydney, Catherine has written fiction, humour and personal reflections for LGBTQIA+ community publications including Quirk Magazine (ACT) and Queer Territory (NT). She has also written for Queer Screen (NSW). Her writing blends warmth, wit and curiosity, with a particular interest in identity, community, relationships and belonging.
Catherine is the author of The Barnabies are Coming! and Bernard the Cheeky Cockroach!, bringing her love of storytelling and humour to both adult and younger readers. Her short story Dead Sardines and a Boyish Lesbian was runner-up in the 2021 Outstanding LGBTQI Short Story Competition.
